Ingredients:
- Vedanta Basmati Rice – 1 cup
- Saffron strands – a few
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Cashews & almonds – 2 tbsp each
- Raisins – 2 tbsp
- Cardamom – 2 pods
- Cloves – 2–3
- Cinnamon stick – 1
- Bay leaf – 1
- Salt – to taste
- Water – 2 cups
Method:
- Soak saffron in 2 tbsp warm water.
- Heat ghee, add whole spices, sauté 30 secs.
- Fry nuts and raisins lightly.
- Add washed rice, sauté gently, add water, saffron, and salt.
- Cook covered on low heat until rice is fluffy.
- Serve as a festive main or with dal makhani.
